Bad debt is something many people who have had financial stress are unaware that ends up on your credit report with all the loans that you have. You can access this information by applying in writing or you can pay a fee and the information will be given in around 2 days.
When obtaining your credit report;
1.) Check for mistakes and make sure you read it carefully because mistakes can occur, and these mistakes will make it more difficult for you to obtain a loan. Some of the errors that have occurred are:
2.) Personal information is not correct.
3.) Incorrect details of credit history. For example, I had paid a credit card off but it showed an outstanding balance.
4.) Old/incorrect defaults and judgments.
If you find any incorrect information on your credit report, contact the agency straight away and have documentary evidence of the incorrect information to support you. The agency will then remove the mistake immediately. Also obtain a debt consolidation loan to fix the defaults.
If you have many smaller loans and have missed some payments you cannot do much to repair that part of your credit history, however do not let it continue. Obtain a debt consolidation loan to pay all the smaller loans as you will find it easier to manage the debt with one loan.
A debt consolidation loan can consolidate all your debts into one payment. The benefits of a lower interest rate and all your smaller debts being in one loan will make it easier for you to manage your finances. If you have multiple debts you can organize direct debit so you will not overlook smaller debts and you will manage your debts better as well as not forget to pay them and this will add to helping your credit report.
Your credit report can have information that enables you to obtain credit. If you are a home owner and married, or have been with the same employer more than 2 years this will all help. If this information is missing from your report make sure you inform the agency, also maintain your credit report by managing your credit information from now on.
If you have damaged your credit report you can get a debt consolidation loan and make sure you pay all your debts on time. You may not be able to, however, if you maintain a record of paying on time it will reflect on you in a positive way with a good credit history.
